Country Ways Oak is a family-owned and managed business where our aim is to ensure everything fulfils, even exceeds your expectations.

COLLECTIONS

Our bespoke service and handmade English Oak Sussex Collection are individually handmade to order in our workshop using traditional methods of craftsmanship, specialising in oak dining tables. Over the years we have grown and in addition to our handmade oak furniture now we offer a large choice of high quality manufactured collections including painted furniture, all sourced from carefully chosen workshops and factories. Our manufactured collections are fastidiously chosen for their high standards of workmanship, quality and attention to detail.

Manufactured furniture is made in production runs to set sizes and designs using modern methods of construction, this is far less labour intensive than traditionally handmade oak furniture and therefore prices are very keen in comparison .  The timber is usually made up of thin strips of oak, glued together to form pre-prepared oak panels that are machined to size and assembled in batches.  Some of our high end manufactured French oak and Italian oak collections offer a choice of colours and finishes.  All collections have been quality checked by our workshop so you can rest assured that when you purchase a piece of furniture from Country Ways Oak Furniture you are buying quality whether traditionally handmade or manufactured.

We hand select the timber for each commission and we are therefore able to offer a choice of different grades of oak including Character oak, High Character oak, Pippy oak and rare Burr oak.  We use long, wide boards for our table tops, our table legs are solid pieces of oak rather than small pieces of timber glued together.  

 

We use time-honoured woodworking techniques, using traditional woodworking tools such as tenon saws, mallets and chisels, each piece of traditionally handmade English oak furniture made by us is constructed with sturdy pegged mortice and tenon joints.

Let us know within 30 days from the date of delivery if you are not totally satisfied with your purchase and we will collect it with no questions asked. (This does not apply to 'made to order', bespoke or custom coloured pieces).

In return we will issue a credit note for the furniture, less our costs for collecting* and returning it to the furniture warehouse. Please note, we can only extend this offer to our self-assembly furniture if it has not been assembled and is still in its original packaging.
