Exceptionally Thick Turned Legs
The table showcases ex 150mm thick turned legs, providing unparalleled stability and visual impact. We offer a choice of leg styles - canon or vase turned as standard - allowing you to personalise the aesthetic to suit your interior. Please specify your preferred leg style in the notes at checkout. These massive legs are shaped on our lathe by skilled craftsmen, creating impressive proportions that command attention.
Chunky Stretcher Construction
Supporting the substantial legs is a chunky ex 65mm thick stretcher to the bottom, providing exceptional structural reinforcement. The table base is traditionally made with mortice and tenon joints which are pegged through for extra strength, ensuring rock-solid stability that will support the largest family gatherings with absolute confidence.
Hand-Carved Side Rails
Adding exquisite craftsmanship detail, you have a choice of hand-carved side rails with nulling or vine carvings. These intricate carvings are executed by skilled artisans, adding period authenticity and visual interest while showcasing traditional woodworking artistry at its finest.
Substantial Planked Top
The table top is ex 65mm thick oak which is planked with breadboard ends featuring peg details to the table ends. This exceptional thickness creates an incredibly robust surface with a premium feel that sets this table apart. The breadboard ends prevent warping while the decorative peg details add authentic craftsmanship touches.

Expert Hand-Applied Finish
Your Extra Heavy Refectory table will be expertly hand-finished using a hard-wearing, food-safe wax oil in the colour of your choice, enhancing the natural grain and carved details.
